Nearing the half century mark, the Port Orford
July 4th Jubilee is legendary. A four or five day event the Jubilee has
one of the largest celebrations (and sone say the BEST celebration) on
the south coast of Oregon, or anywhere for that matter.
There is an hour long parade at mid day and a spectacular fireworks exhibitat
night in addition to a full schedule of other activities like: Rotary
breakfast, sand sculpture, dingy races, pet show, parade, fireworks, Port
Orford Fishermen’s and Fishermen’s
Wives Association salmon barbecue, Senior Center Spaghetti Feed, quilt
show, co-ed slow pitch softball tournament, photography show, Jerry can
races, knot tying contest, flower show, square dancing.
Last year's schedule and map areHERE and
will give you an idea of the festivities. That page and the Local Event
Calendar on this site will be updated with each year's schedule as soon
as it becomes public.
There's plenty of candy for the kids and even the local Llamas show up for
the Jubilee parade. Don't miss this event.
